Taking into account the international developments in the field of quantum computing and in particular the technological progress in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), the priority given to this field by the European Commission and the large installed fibre optic network infrastructure of GRNET S.A., the present action is proposed with the aim of developing a national experimental infrastructure, in the context of which a testing field on the relevant technologies will be developed, and facilitate the monitoring of the relevant scientific developments by the country’s research community.
